Computer forensics is
the process of collecting, preserving and analyzing computer files and data
in a manner that does
not alter evidence.

During forensic collection of data, strict collection methodology is followed, chain of custody is carefully documented and the data is preserved so that it can be used for further analysis and testimony. eLitigation Solutions, Inc has trained, qualified and experienced forensics experts certified in the best forensic tools to help with collection and analysis of data at any phase of the project.

At the inception of a case, eLitigation Solutions, Inc. works with our client to identify and secure the potential sources of electronically stored information such as documents and emails. eLit will collect the information from all sources of these documents whether they are limited to one physical location or they are in several different locations.

The data can be collected from a myriad of devices including but not limited to:

  • Servers
  • Desktop PCs
  • Laptops
  • Backup tapes
  • PDAs
  • USB storage devices
  • Voicemail systems

ESI is be collected by the eLitigation Solutions experts in a forensically sound manner from these devices using a process that will not alter the data in any way. The engineer overseeing the collection is able to testify about the tools, applications, chain of custody procedures and other processes used to collect the ESI in a fully defensible manner.
